IAA 2014, Hanover: At Scania's stand at the IAA trade exhibition, interest is high in the new hybridised Citywide bus. The bus is designed for combined city and suburban operations, reaching speeds up to 100 km/h. It is often believed that electrification works best in dense inner-city traffic. That, however, is not the case as Scania proves with its bus.
Ice hockey legend in the driver’s seat
At the 2012 Ice Hockey World Championship 4–20 May, the biggest annual winter sports event worldwide, participating teams in Helsinki and Stockholm will travel to practice and matches in Scania buses. For the Stockholm-based teams, Scania has provided eight Scania Touring buses and for the Helsinki-based teams eight Scania OmniExpress buses.
Before the opening face-off, legendary Swedish hockey player, Mats Sundin, took the opportunity to inspect the World Championship buses together with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association’s Vice President, Peter Forsberg.
Peter Forsberg praised Scania for the effective collaboration in establishing the sponsorship agreement. And Leif Nyström, Head of Bus Sales at Scania’s Swedish distributor, Scania-Bilar Sverige, is just as pleased. “We’re really proud sponsors and the opportunity to see our brand being associated with another premium brand, the national Swedish ice hockey team,” he says.
