Scania is arranging the world’s largest driver competition – the Scania Driver Competitions.

Fuel economy, road safety and manoeuvring tests as well as knowledge about securing cargo are just a few things you have to master to be successful in Scania Driver Competitions 2010.

When Scania began working with the driver competitions in 2003, the focus was on a single target: The driver. Why? Because “the driver is the single most important asset for economy, environment and safety,” as Leif Östling, President and CEO of Scania, puts it.

The reason for this is that you as a driver have an influence on all these factors. Your driving style, your knowledge about rules and regulations and how to take care of the vehicle are crucial for road safety, fuel efficiency, and in the end also economy.

Since the competitions started in 2003, more than 63,000 drivers have participated, showing excellent results and helping focus on the driver’s working environment.

In Europe, the competition is known as Young European Truck Driver and is endorsed by the European Commission and the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
